Dear Church Family,
There is a distinct
change in the air, the kids are grumbling about homework, and the
opening weekend of college… football... IS…HERE!!!
Isn’t it amazing how
excited we tend to get when Fall comes around? I think we should
be just as excited that the new
Educational Year has started here at FIBC. Our new teachers are
attempting to break in the chin straps and get people excited about
Sunday school. The leaders of the
Children’s Department are encountering pumped up participants in
TeamKids, while Coach “Funny-Little-Bald-Man” vigorously trains and
equips our youth to become All-Star Christians in all aspects of life.
There really seems to be
a great excitement about being a part of the team, a part of the family
– the Body of Christ – here at Fleming Island Baptist Church. We
are
training. We are growing: numerically and spiritually. We are engaging
our world for Jesus Christ!
It takes all types of individuals to
make up a talented team. The team consists of
individuals who shine in certain
positions– or areas of service. There is a place of
service for everyone, and you
have already made the team, but not by anything you have done. “For by
grace have you been saved through faith, and that not of
yourselves; it is a gift of God,
not of works, lest anyone should boast” – Ephesians 2:8-9.
Step up to the line, get involved,
fill that gap, and give it your all! Be a good steward, be a team
player, give of your time, talent and tithe...
Lift Up the Cross –
John 12:32 "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men
unto me."
God Bless You! Bro. Darrell Sammons Pastor, FIBC
